Years ago when art was a part of my life full time, I was able find the balance between her light and dark side. Since taking up the proverbial brushes once again this past year, I have had to struggle a goodly amount with my muse... especially as of late. I had thought that working on "Diva" would be a moment of declaration in this regard, but it appears that I was incorrect and I feel that my faith in said declaration has faltered.
This is not to say that my inspiration to create has left me like it did these past few months. In fact, I am quite motivated to do so, yet I am finding it hard to ignore the urge to go back and correct all the imperfections of previous works. Perhaps I should just take the suggestion of a friend and go do some scribble drawings instead.

I hope you're keeping up with the doodling. Most eveything I do creatively begins with a doodle. I've taken to leaving large or small hints of the originating doodle in the finished piece. A little bit of 'unfinished-ness'. Glamour is an example of this, and so is Bleu and Qallupilluit. I actually created a more polished version of Glamour, but chose this earlier version because of it's intentional roughness and imperfections. Perhaps if more than 3/4s of the reviews/critiques you receive on any given work are positive, you could convince yourself that it's finished? That you've learned and/or expressed what you needed through the piece? That you can let go...
Anyway, know that I think about you. Here's a
